Ingredients
Optional Glass Decoration:
-
1 serving of fresh strawberry sauce (use your favorite recipe)
Cheesecake Milkshake:
-
4 cups (about 8 scoops) of vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
-
½ of a 6-inch store-bought cheesecake, cut into chunks (I used strawberry swirl)
-
¼ cup of graham cracker crumbs (see notes)
Cream Cheese Whipped Cream:
-
4 oz. of cream cheese, softened to room temperature
-
¾ cup of heavy whipping cream, chilled
-
5 tablespoons of powdered sugar
-
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Topping:
-
Crushed graham cracker crumbs
-
Fresh strawberries
Instructions
- Prepare one batch of my Fresh Strawberry Sauce and allow it to cool completely. This step is optional, though highly recommended if you want to enhance the strawberry flavor profile of your milkshake.
- For the Cheesecake Milkshake: Add softened ice cream, cheesecake pieces [see notes] and graham cracker crumbs to a high-powered blender. Process until smooth and well-combined. For additional strawberry flavor, you may incorporate ¼ cup of the cooled strawberry sauce if desired.
- For the Glass Decoration: Using the back of a spoon, artfully drizzle some of the strawberry sauce along the inside walls of each serving glass.
- Pour the milkshake mixture into the prepared glasses and top with cream cheese whipped cream (recipe follows), an extra drizzle of strawberry sauce, a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs, and a fresh strawberry. Serve immediately and enjoy!
- For the Cream Cheese Whipped Cream: In a medium stainless steel bowl, using a handheld mixer, whip the softened cream cheese on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Gradually add the chilled cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Continue whipping on medium-high speed until the cream holds firm peaks, approximately 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with your favorite decorative tip and pipe onto the milkshakes.
Notes
- I used a strawberry swirl cheesecake. If this specific variety isn’t available in your area, feel free to add ¼ cup of the cooled strawberry sauce to the milkshake for a similar flavor profile!
- If pre-made cheesecake isn’t readily available at your local grocery store, you can substitute with 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, cut into small pieces.
- When using actual cheesecake in your milkshake, the additional graham cracker crumbs become optional since the cheesecake crust already contains graham crackers.
