Description

These Mini Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy, and filled with buttery cinnamon sugar. Perfect for a cozy breakfast, brunch, or sweet snack, and topped with a simple vanilla glaze.


Ingredients

🔸 For the dough:

250 g all-purpose flour

1 packet (7 g) active dry yeast

120 ml warm milk

40 g sugar

1 egg

40 g soft butter

1 pinch of salt

🔸 For the filling:

50 g soft butter

60 g brown sugar

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

🔸 For the glaze (optional):

60 g powdered sugar

1 tbsp milk (or more depending on texture)

A few drops of vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm milk, yeast, and 1 tsp of sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, egg, and the milk-yeast mixture.
  3. Knead for 5 to 10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth.
  4.  Add the soft butter and knead for another 5 minutes until soft and no longer sticky.
  5. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about 25 x 35 cm).
  7. Spread soft butter evenly on top.
  8. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  9. Roll tightly from the long side into a log.
  10. Cut into mini rolls, about 2–3 cm thick, yielding 15–20 rolls
  11. Place rolls in a greased dish or on parchment-lined tray with space in between.
  12. Cover and let rise again for 30 to 45 minutes.
  13. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  14.  Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  15. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
  16. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

You can make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate overnight before the second rise.

Swap brown sugar with coconut sugar for a deeper flavor.

Use cream cheese frosting for a richer topping.
