Start your day with something truly indulgent! These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups combine the warm, comforting flavors of cinnamon rolls and French toast into one irresistible treat. Perfect for a cozy breakfast or brunch, these roll-ups are easy to make and sure to please everyone at the table!

Ingredients

  • 🍞 6 slices of white bread (or cinnamon swirl bread for extra flavor)
  • 🧈 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 🧃 1/4 cup milk
  • 🥚 2 large eggs
  • 🍬 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 🍩 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 🍯 1/4 cup maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Bread:

  • Remove the crusts from the bread slices to create soft, square pieces. (Save the crusts to make breadcrumbs later!)
  • Use a rolling pin to gently flatten each slice for easy rolling.

2️⃣ Make the Cinnamon Sugar:

  • Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Set aside.

3️⃣ Prepare the French Toast Batter:

  • Whisk together eggs and milk in a separate bowl until smooth. This forms your dipping mixture.

4️⃣ Assemble the Roll-Ups:

  • Spread a thin layer of melted butter on each bread slice.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top.
  • Roll up each bread slice tightly like a cinnamon roll.

5️⃣ Dip and Cook the Roll-Ups:

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little butter.
  • Dip each roll-up into the egg and milk batter, ensuring full coverage.
  • Cook the roll-ups for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.

6️⃣ Serve and Enjoy:

  • Roll the cooked roll-ups in the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture for a sweet crunch.
  • Drizzle with warm maple syrup and serve immediately for the ultimate breakfast treat!

Notes

  • Bread Choice: Use cinnamon swirl bread for extra flavor or stick with white bread. Flatten the slices with a rolling pin to make them easier to roll up.
  • Cooking Tip: Make sure the skillet is at medium heat and use a non-stick surface to avoid burning while ensuring the roll-ups cook evenly to a golden brown.
